UPDATE: the first roll out is complete. You can now continue to use iStylr.
Lots of time, money and work has been put into the development of iStylr even prior to the launch of the public beta in April of 2008. Development really started in 2005 already. Many obstacles have been overcome and technical hurdles were taken since. Anybody who used iStylr more than once knows how much has changed during the past year and before. And they know how fast suggestions were implemented in order to make iStylr better and better.
This was the past however and change is on the horizon again.
In short we will be releasing the first official version of iStylr. Yes, everything you currently see is ‘just’ beta
So let me tell you the most important changes of the upcoming launch.
New Features:
Additionally we will introduce a new premium account that will enable all features and disable any limits. (Don’t worry though, basic usage will stay free)
I don’t want to shout out a date for the launch today because some things still need to be worked on. All I can say now is that it will not take long.
So stay tuned and wait for an announcement either here in this blog or in your mailbox.
Excitet as allways.
Cheers,
Stephan
Users of Avira’s Antivir antivirus solution recieve a Virus Alert when visiting our homepage and/or iStylr’s main application. This alert is a false positive and must be ignored in order to use iStylr.
I know this is very annoing and if you are a first time visitor to our site I can understand that this message does not make us look very trust-worthy.
How ever we can not do anything against this message except to wait for the next virus-database-update by Avira.
Avira is already informed about the issue and told us that the problem will be solved with one of the next updates of their virus-definitions. Additionally Avira confirmed in an E-Mail that all files listed in the alert are VIRUS FREE.
I’ll keep you updated on this issue here in this blog.
Yours,
Stephan
UPDATE: Avira now confirms this issue online (in German): Entry was removed by avira
UPDATE 2: One of Germany’s biggest computer magazines, Computerbild, about this issue: http://www.computerbild.de/artikel/cb-News-Software-Avira-Virenscanner-sendet-Fehlalarm-4563946.html
UPDATE 3: The issue is fixed now! Nobody should recieve the false alert anymore.
With the latest update released today some very cool new functionalities are available to all iStylr’s. To show you some of the new options I created two screencasts that you can watch below:
Part one (the new template generator):
Part two (how to customize the topmenu):
We still had some issues with the main registration and the confirmation mail. I’m happy to let you know that this issue has been fixed now.
If you still happen to have trouble registering with iStylr please send an e-mail to info@istylr.com or post a comment below (don’t forget to include your e-mail-address).
