iStylr FAQ
What is the iStylr about? What is it used for?
The iStylr is built to reduce the development times of tableless webdesign and weblication templates to a minimum. It is used instead of text-editors and other known webdesign-tools. The iStylr is a real alternative to the existing tools and it is completely free.
Who should use the iStylr?
Webmasters and designers creating or editing tableless CSS-designs should consider using the iStylr. In first place the iSytlr is aimed for the professional user that knows how to use CSS and xHTML. The intuitive GUI and the seemlessly integrated interactive help-area of the iStylr however enable even the inexperienced webmaster to complete beautiful CSS templates in very short time spans.
How much does it cost to use the iStylr?
Basic usage of the iStylr is free. We will however introduce some premium features and pay per action features based on a credit system. As long as iStylr is in beta
Why do I have to register?
The iStylr contains functionality that relys on a valid username. The design saving feature for example as well as the export and the optional publishing feature and the image management all require such a valid username. As soon as the iStylr is out of beta we will introduce a demo account that can be used to test out this powerful tool.
Do I have to pay to download the templates?
In general no. The iStylr however offers it's members to publish their designs. The publishing member decides by himself whether to make his template available to other members for free or for a certain charge.
(This function is still in development - currently all public templates are free of charge)
Is there a help or support area?
Yes. There is an interactive support-area integrated into the iStylr gui. Just click on the help-button (main menu) or on the help-bottombar to open the help-area.
What kind of images are supported?
You can use gif, jpg and png files for your images.
Can I edit the HTML-sourcecode directly?
Yes, you can edit the HTML sourcecode online via the HTML Editor from the sidebar.
Can I add or edit my own styles to the CSS?
Yes, you can add styles and edit the CSS sourcecode online via the CSS Editor from the sidebar.
Can I upload my own imagery?
Yes, you can even upload multiple images from different folders at once.
Can I import any webpage?
In general yes. However the import is usefull with tableless css designs only. Other designs will have reduced editability.
